Red Mac Khen Seeds

Red Mac Khen is a typical spice of the Northwest region. In Buot village, red Mac Khen is often harvested from old Khen trees that grow naturally in the forest, tied into bunches, dried on the kitchen loft, and preserved for consumption all year round. The best time to harvest Mac Khen is from November to the end of December every year.

Instructions for use:

Used to marinate meat and fish: Crush Mac Khen seeds, mix with spices for marinating grilled meat and grilled fish.

Used as a dipping sauce: Grind or crush Mac Khen seeds and a little fresh ginger, mix with fish sauce to create a typical Northwest fish dipping sauce. Or you can crush Mac Khen seeds, a little Doi seeds, herbs, roasted white salt, wild chili… to create the famous Cham Cheo dish of the Northwest people.
